Mem Markdown Format

When you create a mem, we expect a markdown-formatted string as the input.

Example#

# Hello World!
This is my new mem.
This is another paragraph.

The input above would generate the following mem:

Hello World!#

Mem Tags#

This is how you #tag something #winning

Mem Tasks#

* [ ] This becomes an unchecked task
* [x] This becomes a checked task
* [x] This is also checked
* [ ] This is also unchecked

Linked Mems#

A mem's unique URL is parsed as a linked mem.
e.g. https://mem.ai/m/abcdefghij0123456789 --> linked mem
Find this URL by copying the link for a mem on Mem in the web application (mem.ai) or on desktop.

Mentioned Users#

A user's unique URL is parsed as a mentioned user.
e.g. https://mem.ai/u/abcdefghijklmnopqr0123456789 --> mentioned user
Find this URL by searching for a specific user on Mem in the web application (mem.ai) and copying the link before "/timeline".

Mentioned Groups#

A group's unique URL is parsed as a mentioned group.
e.g. https://mem.ai/g/abcdefghij0123456789 --> mentioned group
Find this URL by selecting a group from the groups tab on Mem in the web application (mem.ai) and copying the link.

Paragraph Content with Newlines#

with some newlines in-between paragraphs.

What isn't supported yet#

This is a [non-exhaustive] list of that features we currently do not support:

  • Tables
  • HTML (br tag, hr tag, etc.)
  • Various nested blocks (eg. nested block quotes.)
